After his death Klaus D. bequeathed an inheritance of millions. Two nephews, a niece, and his brother considered themselves to be filthy rich, for a short time. But, to their big surprise, they learn that the dead man had an illegal son. From an affair with a French woman, Jacques is supposed to exist. Out of the blue this is turning the succession, as well as the previous family structure, upside down. Nor does anyone know Jacques personally. The story tells of the search for the legal heir to the millions.
